Prairie Farmer ran an article on
using nitrogen prices to plan for next year's acres of corn and soybeans. I know that many are faithful to their Corn - Soybean Rotation. That is a good agronomic practice, although a third crop would be even better. I would not adjust just because of nitrogen prices, but if you are currently growing more corn than soybeans, this might be something to consider. With regards to managing your fertilizer nitrogen, you may also want to look at the
N-rate calculator and adjust nitrogen rates based on price of corn vs price of nitrogen. Nitrate testing at sidedress time is also an option.
