Is Bt safe to eat?
Bacillus thuringiensis is a bacteria that produces a natural insecticide. A gene from Bacillus thuringiensis is implanted in corn to cause the corn to produce the insecticide and reduce the use of artificial insecticides. Bacillus thuringiensis has been used by organic producers since the 1950's to protect their crops.
